EDIMHO, I don't think Hootie is layawaying your rats.It looks like it's catching voles or mice, pretty small critters from the way it pounces on them,I would believe a rat would be a handful for that owl, which is not a Great Horned Owl, from the lack of horns (ear tuffs) on it's head etc.Do you have small trails leading from a hole to another hole, very easy to see, in your lawn? etc.Tia,Don

LOL!I'd be happy to leave some dead ones for an easy dinner, but he/she insists on doing the hard way. You need to communicate that with her/him thru the Hootie network.com system! I've tried, but I keep getting server not found.

I'm sure you're right about it not being a rat. It may not be eating them, but seems to have scared them all into hiding. I haven't see a single one around the feeder since it showed up. I read about some of your experiences on another thread, so I appreciate your input. Here's a screenshot of its face.

EdLook up the Owl's that are common to your area, Google, "Owls of Gray GA", (your location),and you should find out what type of Owl that is,It's not a Great horned Owl, they are HUGE, almost 24" tall, and have "That Look" like I'll tear your face off etc.You have a built in "Size reference" that flat dish/tray is X '' across, so you can get a good height reference for your Hootie etc.On speaking to the Owl's you have to speak Hootieeze, verry hard to learn..........LOL,their web site is: Silent but Deadly.com After Dark Hours. You probably have mice coming to your feed station, Hootie has learned, Free dining at Ed's Diner, all you can eat, "FREE".Start thumping those mice, and Hootie will probably find another Dining spot? Thanks,Don
