I like it...looks promising.My only point of ponderance is:Most of what I seem to be bluing are barrel covers that are 21+ inches long.It may be difficult to find an appropriately long pan for the boiling water baths,and the means to heat something that long.That would probably require multiple hot plates.....
I use hydrogen peroxide and salt for this process. Seems to work ok, but requires boiling the rust, carding, and multiple cycles. I blued some tee-nuts that I made for my rotary table. There was a little bit of pitting, I think, so be careful of that.
Has anyone tried these home brew methods with leaded 12L14 steel?
If it's steel and it rusts...should work.
