I never got why the Hatsan .30 barrels are only 10.5 inches long. Seems like they'd be better w/ an 18 inch barrel.

The high pressure impulse of the spring piston peaks before the projectile has moved far up the barrel. More than just those initial few inches supposedly will not accelerate the pellet any more. Long barrels on springers are allegedly just there to provide cocking leverage. IMO the QE silencer on the model 135 is there to act as a cheater bar as much as it is a moderator.
Raccoon/possum/etc and at modest distances, may 25/30 yards or so.I do think that a magnum .22 with a heavy pellet would be justbas good. No experience to draw from though beyond squirrels.

Well, I hope that everyone who wanted one got one, because I bought the last one about 15 minutes ago.Couldn't resist my own post.... ha ha!Plus, my .25 Vortex may have a leaky strut so it doesn't hurt to have a back up.Of course, this means that I need yet another scope....
Yes, I'm curious to see if the Edge is easy to convert or needs something custom.I'm hoping that its just a swap. I do like my .25 Edge and I'd like to keep it in service if it does have a leak.Though it may just need airing up (it was stored muzzle up for a year or so before I knew better).
Anybody owning a Hatsan Edge .22?What is your opinion? With a small tune (debur, delube, relube, etc) how good could it be (accuracy, shot cycle, vibration, etc)?
