Title: Synthetic Stock Makeover
Post by: Rat Sniper (AKA: PaulT58) on January 13, 2018, 09:07:58 PM
Inspired by Jadocs' post (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=137199.20 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=137199.20) - Post # 30) I decided to try a transformation of my Gamo Whisper Fusion stock.

I started by wiping the entire stock down with GooGone to get rid of any grease and gum.  Then I sanded the entire stock to help the paint adhere to the plastic.  I then wiped it down again with rubbing alcohol and gave it 2 coats of primer.  I used Rust-Oleum Stone Creations Spray in Black Granite.  After two coats and 4 days of curing, I sanded the entire stock again to smooth the finish and then topped it off with a Crystal Satin Clear Coat.

Too much?  It does look and feel rugged, which is what I was going for...

The job you did on it looks really good and I don't think that is a bad look at all.

Being further inspired by Jadocs' Winter Camo Trail NP2, I decided I'd give my Trail NP2 a Camo paint job.  I have it primed and ready to go.  I have to go to Walmart and pick up the paint, but will be painting it later today. Mine will be more of a Florida Camo Theme... Worse case, if it turns out horrible, I have more Stone Creations paint, I'll just paint over it...
