He must be new or something. He said he knew my name, I'd bought from him before. Don't need it.Yep, they look up your zip code and then ask which person you are from the list on file. There are only 2 listed in my zip code. I thought about asking who the other person was because I don't know anyone else that would order Crosman parts in our small community and I could probably find a local shooting buddy.Anyways, I still think he made a mistake. I've ordered several barrels from Crosman in the past and I do believe shipping was never more than $4.

That was 16.5 inches long. Stretching out to 24" must cost more.. But yours must be coming UPS as well. He told me they won't ship a barrel through the USPS anymore. Guess I'll order from Alchemy when I need the parts.

He does a great job of crowning them as well. Can't beat his customer service either.

I hope she a shooter because in the pictures, she sure is pretty! It's an AWESOME gun. My only complaint is that by the time you get to 30 FPE, the barrel shroud is not at all adequate. I had to find a thread adapter from ebay Europe then add a TKO moderator and now the darn thing is 49" long. Then, you're banging it on stuff all the time, changing zero a bit. Order some O-rings for the magazines now to have them on hand. Pyramyd has them for $2 for a 2-pack. I ordered 4 to fix my four mags and have four extras. The magazine advancing pawl on mine is getting worn out, so one of the mags isn't advancing well. Gonna replace that part soon, but mine is an older unregulated gun.Trigger is great. Adjustable power is great. Magazine is unsprung, so it doesn't clip pellets at all. Easy to hand pump
Buck Rail moderator finally came in. Made for the 2240, it'll fit all Crosman size (7/16) barrels including my Daisy 853C. Snug fit.

I can't imagine an 853 needing a moderator, but the CMP 853's come with a barrel weight, which the moderator mimics quite nicely. This is one of my CMP853's

This rifle was missing a rear sight, as well as most of the inserts for the rusty front sight. I'm in an apartment, and it's winter. I'm shooting indoors at this point.
UPS just delivered the HW97K in 5mm that I ordered from Krale. Waiting for a Hawke scope for it from MidwayUSA.
