I missed him low and caught it on video

The rats were back last night! They started about an hour before dark. Then the cardinals took over for a while. Once it got dark I decided to sneak around to my set-up. LOL, a chair with a camera tripod and a towel at the corner of the house.
A couple of minutes and he was there. He looked huge in the scope on 6X and I was hoping for some scopecam footage. I'll have to work on that and see if changing the fps or ISO will help, but everything was dark on the scopecam. I rushed to take the shot because I had seen them 2 nights before on the trailcam. They run in, grab a bite of seed, and exit quick about 5 seconds total. :o
I may have pulled the shot, but I'll double check my zero again. He reacted pretty violently, I haven't found any blood or a body. It was 9PM when I took the shot and they were visiting about 3 every 3-5 minutes. After the near miss they didn't come back until almost 2AM. ;D

Ken, the way it flew back looks like a hit or maybe the pellet deflected into its underbelly! If they dart in and grab seed, you should try smearing some peanut butter so they can't grab and leave (have to stay and lick). Anyway, glad they're back and you might have gotten one! Take practice shots at the distance you'll be shooting...shorter shots POI is lower.

Thanks Randall, Yes I'm zeroed on the fence where the camera is mounted. He's probably 2 yds in front of that. I know when I moved from the patio bait station to the shed area it was about 5 yds farther and POI was actually higher because the pellet was still rising. It's also possible I've knocked the scope off again. I'm not sure the QD base is working well with the Picatinny to 11mm base adapter either. ??? I need to check zero at the bait station instead of 6-8' behind it.

If that pellet hit low, he is singing soprano now!

Thanks Hunter. Yeah I just finished verifying my zero for the 3rd time this week. I had to adjust 20 clicks up and 4 clicks right. It should have gone right under the tip of his nose. I like lobotomy shots when possible. ;D
