Lots of options there...First there is that stuff that another member made a single shot tray out of.... can't remember what is was and couldn't locate the thread. There is also a small cube of delrin. And also some JB Weld.Anything to take up the space.
The safety don't have to be pulled out of the group to take the cover off.. it has to be pulled to get the stock off. Once the stock is removed you can put the safety cross bar back in if you choose and the gun can be cocked and the trigger tested, to some extent... there will be play without the cover on it.One area people forget to polish and lube is the contact point where the lawyer spring rides on the bottom of the sear.Any one who knows anything about metal stamping will know that only a percentage of the shear is cut... the final 10% or so (depending on sharpness and clearance on the die's trim line) snaps off. The thicker and harder the metal is, the bigger the "burr" left behind. (for lack of a better term) This gun sells for $100 and it's mass produced. The factory is not going to spend the time and money on cleaning up the trim lines on these parts. There are other ways to produce the parts with precise results, such as wire cut and milled, but that would significantly raise the cost.
I'm sure it's just a matter of time before one of our talented members come up with a simple way to make the Baker brass trigger adjustable.I looked at it long and hard and didn't come up with anything in my modest junk pile that made the advantage worth the trouble.I do think that the back of the frame could be drilled and tapped to use the Baker supplied adjustment screws, make the desired adjustments then cut off the protruding remains, if any, of the screws. If the 'meat' of that rib was left alone, you could slot the screw after cutting it and still have minimal adjustments.Another way would be to clear some space in the stock to have room for the adjustment screws. I like to make my mods reversible and neither of these options would be.
