Title: PVC Rifle Caddy
Post by: Perazzi mx8 on December 07, 2018, 12:02:36 PM
I've seen pics of one of these (Thomas AG site). Made of 1/2"? PVC and holds a soft case horizontally (scope up) just off the ground (mud). Placed near shooting position allows for easy gun access. Has anyone made one of these or seen plans for one? Looks like a good winter project.

It's not exactly what you are asking for because it doesn't hold a soft case but you could make it so it could.  That's a D34P in there.  I wish I would have planned ahead and made it a little bit bigger because my TX200 and HW97 don't fit in it.  They are too wide.

I used to fly radio control aircraft, just about everyone made one of those to carry their planes.
Get some PVC pipe, a saw or PVC cutter, some elbows, tees and some pvc glue and primer.
I think that 1/2 inch is too weak, I like 3/4 much better.
Dream it, build it.
Put it together without glue first to check the fit for your hardware, and to make sure that it will fit in your car. If it's okay then glue it.
If you go to a bicycle shop ( or walmart) you can get a cup holder for it!

Thanks for the pics Ed and I like your design. I took a closer look and I'm guessing you shoot spring gun HFT. It also looks like you've modified the yoke in your bipod. What did you use and how well does it work?
