Member Login Process

Howdy everybody. If you have logged onto GTA Forums today, you noticed a little different and difficult login process. David (rocker1) posted an announcement but I'm going to post another and send this via email to everyone. During routine maintenance of the forum, we noticed MANY attempts to crack into GTA by someone trying to hack user passwords. This went on for 2-3 days while we scoured the server to make sure we were secure. If an intruder hacks a website, they can steal sensitive information or just for malicious reasons reak havoc or shut us down completely.
Most hackers implement an internet bot program that repeatedly attempts to log on with different user/password combinations in the hopes someone has an easy password to steal. We implemented the new login procedure that a bot cannot understand, let alone some of us old timers. LOL
It's rather simple though, type in your user name and password, drag the arrows to make 3 pictures right side up and enter. You WILL fail to log in the first time, go back and repeat the process and you will get in. We apologize for this little inconvenience but it IS for GTA and it's members protection. Please bear with the process. We are trying to keep GTA up and running as the BEST airgun site on the internet.
Once you try this a time or two, it's no problem and you will get use to it. I would also suggest everyone create a difficult password that has numbers, capital as well as lower case letters. Let's make it as hard as possible for hackers.

Good move, Dave.
Those site crackers can be a total nightmare.
Just to add to one of your points, Dave, but let's not forget those "other" characters up on your number row on your keyboards, like the "# * ^ %."
Those really make it tougher for those bot programs, exponentially tougher.
