Also, forget life's issues when you lay down. No worries, they will be there when you wakeup.

It took a looong time for me figure out a way to not sit there, stuck in my mind about situations that I could've done better. I literally have to recognize this is happening and change my thoughts. It was hard at first, but it gets easier as you practice. Airgunning was actually one of the things I used as a lullaby. Often, I would fall asleep just thinking about airguns just to occupy my mind, then I would wake up knowing that was the last thing Ithought about before I dozed off. So i started using it as a thing to clear my mind. Airgun meditation?
All the way!
Lol .... some REALLY GOOD bud and not much of it. discover what many have known for decades ... Or not.
I was recently prescribed some muscle relaxers for "cervical muscle spasms".Seems like the doctors I have seen disagree whether or not i have an impingement, but there is no denying the herniated disks in my c spine. I have been to the doctor about my weakness and they told me to lift weights, haha.Well, i cracked my neck doing bench press of all things and it literally zapped the strength right back out of me. Dropped 185 on my chest/neck from about 3/4 the way up, lol. My son had to "save" me!Anyway my pa said i probably have an impingement, but the ortho spine doc didnt think so. The er doc told me i definitely have an impingement, the neurologist thinks I have an impingment and that I should probably get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon.I got muscle relaxers in the er Friday nightand ever since I have been sleeping through the night. Probably helps that I had Staff Duty on Saturday and again on Monday. I think the pain from the muscle spasms is what wakes me in the night. Even up to 12 benadryl will not help me sleep through the night. Oxycodone would not help me sleep through the night either, after surgery, although it helped me fall asleep. Funny all the work they did on my feet never caused near the pain that i go through with my back and my neck, how hard is it to get a diagnosis and some help with your back? I saw a podiatrist once on a Thursday and they fixed my feet the next Tuesday, and it changed my life. Whwn it comes to your back they are weary I guess.Anyway thanks for all the advice and replies to all of you.ShakySarge thanks for sharing that wisdom.I will probably avoid any kind of "substance", lol.
The comments about turning off the tv and putting down the phone, really are off putting.Yeah i been on GTA alot. I have also been on staff duty for 48 of the last 96 hours.I'm 38 years old. I know that looking at my phone and watching TV are gonna interfere with sleep.Be cool if you'd read the thread before ya just throw something else out there.

Every disc in my c-spine is bulging along with some narrowing of the nerve canal so I definitely feel your pain. Ignore the lifting weights opinion. I found that maintaining mobility is usually enough to keep the pain bearable. Stretch when you can, some rotations, nothing heavy.
