The compression tube would be the silver part. I'm not sure what to call the bigger tube the compression tube slides in. Perhaps the receiver? Which did you lube and how?Krytox will atomize from compression.

Which did you lube and how?Krytox will atomize from compression. Maybe I had my terms mixed up. I was calling the compression tube the thing (metal tube with cocking slot at the bottom) that the piston slides in to. I lubed the ID of that (heavily), as well as the piston. Thanks all for the help. I got a chance to shoot this morning and the 'smoke' cleared up after about a dozen shots. I don't think it was smoke at all, but atomized krytox as Ron stated. I applied it much like Ed did when he first tried it out, ie very heavily. It never had that burning grease smell that it did when I got it new, it was odorless, although I was hesitant to stick my nose right up to it.The gun seems to shoot much more consistent with the Vortek Vac Seal and Krytox than stock with the nicked seal. Oddly enough with the bad seal I was able to maintain relatively good groups (sub 1/2inch) at under 30 yards, but greater than that my groups opened up quickly. With the new seal the gun is grouping much, much better at longer ranges.
