Scope ran out of elevation

Bought a new scope for my Nova Liberty. It's a Westhunter HD 4-16 FFP. While trying to zero it at 10 yards I ran out of elevation and is hitting 2" low.
I know 10 yards is close but I like the ballistics chart that goes with my speed and range requirements.
I know it's not the rifle as I've mounted various scopes and they all zeroed fine.
Ordered a set of Westhunter adjustable rings to hopefully fix the issue.

You can try shimming the scope. If you have any old 35mm negatives cut a strip and place it under the scope in the rear mount. Just don’t go gorilla when you tighten the mounts. You can also use plastic solo cup etc.

Came across a few posts on here on shimming and will have to give it a shot.
Pretty disappointed that it needs to come to that but just want it to work the way it should.
I did contact the seller and told them about the issue and hopefully receive a discount on the adjustable mounts

Did you try interchanging the scope mounts? Maybe the mounts are bad.

You can get a UGT droop mount for $15 from Pyramyd Air. Easy fix.

I've shimmed a bunch of scopes over the years works great. As stated above 35mm film negative works fantastic if you have any and like they said.... tighten down firmly but resist the temptation to over tighten.

You did not mention what height scope mounts you are using. Higher mounts are a problem for short ranges. If your mount is not well and properly seated on the rifle that can also cause a problem and it's easy to do.

I am pretty sure you wouldn’t need to shim if you were shooting a greater distance. You will notice that every step further away you take results in the pellet poi rising a little bit. I had the same problem with one of my scopes and stepping back another 10’ fixed it (not an option for you with indoor range). And as was just mentioned the higher your scope is elevated above your barrel the more exaggerated this will be.
I cut an aluminum soda can and made shims out of the sides on one gun and it has worked fine.

When you use see-thru rings like I do so you can also use open sights that can be a problem. But a droop mount fixes that also.

Was able to get it working until my adjustable mounts come in.
Ended up using 4 layers of electrical tape on the rear mount. Only snugged the screws so the scope wouldn't move. Don't want to crush the tube or anything
Will have to play with the mounts and try to center the scope as best as I can. Will be using the Mil-Dots for different ranges the only adjustments will to rezero between different pellets or slugs

Are you talking about the west hunter height adjustable rings? I don’t think those will work for droop compensation, at least the ones I’ve seen.
