So far SAE30 - ND oil is leading the poll. By the way, I was watching YouTube yesterday and was chatting with the author (he’s an air gun gunsmith). He says you never need to remove a co2 cartridge that’s not empty from a 2400KT. It will not be damaged. He says by laws of physics there will be some loss of gas but it will not harm the seals.
I wonder if too much oil being expelled during the shot cycle can affect accuracy?
Pellgunoil sells on Amazon for $2.50. That's for 1/4 of an ounce. There 32 ounces to a quart. If I buy a quart of 30 weight non detergent oil, and sell it to you at $2.50 per quarter ounce, you would pay me $328.00. I bought a quart of ND oil from Ace Hardware for about $4.50 maybe. That was like seven years ago. I probably have half a quart left, and I shoot most days. Maybe I could sell toothpicks for a buck apiece. If I could afford to pay $328 for a quart of oil, I could have a fleet of servants to pamper me in the lifestyle I'd like to become acustom to. Lets say that 30 ND oil wears o'rings out faster than Pellgunoil. The money I'm saving by using ND oil would buy me three QB78S model air rifles. Or, a suitcase full of I'rings I could replace myself. I will be sticking to 30 weight ND oil.
Apparently Pellgunoil is motor oil:https://www.crosman.com/media/pdf/msds/SDS-PELLGUNOIL.pdf

If you dig enough, I believe I remember "Secret Sauce" is HD46 Hydraulic fluid.
Apologies for reviving this old topic, but I have been on a quest to find 30W non detergent motor oil in my area. I checked 5 stores and no one carries it. Not even Walmart though it is listed on their site as a product they sell but apparently elsewhere. No luck at Autozone, no luck at O'Reilly, no luck at Walmart. Checked multiple sites. Where are y'all finding luck getting this mystery oil?I could mail order for $8 to $10 a quart, in-store price is about $4.50. Of course $4.50 is a lot more attractive than over 2x the price.Turby
