This morning was the time for my Greenway bicycle ride. I was out early before it got too warm. I am guessing the early hour is one of the reasons I saw [for the first time on the Greenway] a large Armadillo. (No picture because I didn't have a camera that would communicate with this computer.)

Wonder how far north they can survive?

Got the mower chained to the loader and lifted it up then installed the new drive belt. No way I could have installed it without the tractor to lift it because that belt was a tight fit requiring my full strength and tools that I couldn't have used on the ground. Got more mowing done afterward then cooled off eating a big delicious slice of cold watermelon. A country boy can survive. Frontend loaders and backhoes are more than dirt movers huh Gil, they are tire changers, boom lifts, short term cherry pickers(beats a using a ladder), invasive plant pluckers, forklifts for feed, the possibilities are endless with them. Mine has saved me a lot of headache around the house in the last few years.Sure are… my wife says I need to get one of my own after borrowing my neighbor’s… I’m agreeing with her wholeheartedly. I told her all the stuff that needs doing around here could be tackled with one. Her big task is driveway maintenance, 110+ yards of gravel. And, I told her the dealer I got my last 2 zero turns from sell New Holland, just like the one I borrowed… and it’ll fit on my trailer. PS- they can just add it to my account,

I use propane to cook heat the house and hot water. I am the last house on the grid. Long drive and the house is very well insulated. On a light winter I use around 400-450 gallons a year. On a bad winter I use around 500-550. Last year I purchased 501 gallons for around 1100 bucks. This year I am looking at 500 again but was quoted around 2400 bucks. I will fill the tank but now for the what I did today part. I purchased 30 foot of double wall chimney pipe and all the what nots needed to hang it from the basement walkout to the top of the peak. I am not doing so for the savings of propane. I am doing so for when something goes wrong the wife and I dont freeze to death. Now to hang it and then purchase a good stove with cold air intake.Every stove store wanted 5400- to 7000 just for the pipe. I found a place that has not had a price change in four years and was able to get it all for 1413.00 out the door. They even gave me a deal since it had been sitting so long in the store. I have plenty of wood so I will shop for a stove while I get the chimney hung lol.
There is some kind of big "Country Music Concert" tonight. Hoosier Momma, her life long friend "Debbie Do" and her daughter... along with my Daughter #2 and her friend. They loaded with camp chairs to go see.I "mooned" them all as they were leaving... slapping the cheeksLong time gag here... never gets old... I think Daughter #2's friend may be traumatized... scared for life.

It lasts us about three months. I’ve got a 250 gallon tank but I cant afford to fill it all at once!.I’ve got a wood stove and all the stove pipe I need but I can’t install it. My home owner’s insurance would go through the roof. So the stove sits under a window in the living room. If needed we’ll replace the window sash with a piece of sheet metal and run the chimney pipe out the window.
