Not a new subject - What paper do you find that works best for printing targets?
Has anyone had experience with the paper from this site?

I use the copy paper from work ;D

I guess it might depend on your backstop. For my setup I just use the cheapest available printer paper. I can see some situations might require a thicker paper.

I use 110# card stock but 90# will also work and even dome pellets cut OK holes in the stuff...........

I too use copy paper. The 90/110 card stock looks good.

Trick to use:
Tape your target to a piece of cardboard.
The cardboard acts like a cutting board, and the paper "punches" the target.
This helps a LOT when I use copy paper, which without a backer tends to tear rather than punch.
Move the target around, so you always have cardboard behind the bull, or where you group. The backer is useless if you put the target over a shot out hole in the backer.
Once I started to collect cardboard for a target backer, it was surprising how fast and how much cardboard I collected.
Cardstock works well, but not all printers can handle cardstock.
READ your printer's manual, to find the max weight paper it will handle, and use that.
Example, if your printer is rated for 60 pound paper, use that.

I buy targets to support the industry and dealers. Perfect holes for evaluation.

Excellent idea to check the printer capacity. Yes, cereal & soda boxes are great backer cardboard, but pretty messy. I'm just looking for the type of paper that commercial targets are made of.

I've only used "plain ole 8 1/2" x 11" 90# or 110# card stock" for targets and found them to be satisfactory.

Lots of paper "snobbery" going on here. Unless its an official target or an essential target needed for official scoring, use what you have available. I use 90# cardstock because its what I like to use, no need to buy anything exotic.

I find the 110 Georgia Pacific that Ed posted at the local Walmart.
It gives a nice clean punched hole, especially with a wad-cutter.

When printing on 90#/110# card stock with my two HP printers I don't stack the paper in the feeding tray printing. I print them one at a time.

Feel really bad for you folks. It's so nice to work in a print shop where I can design and print my own targets.
Virtually unlimited access to waste paper usually printed on one side. Found best results with #65 cover stock and heavier.
Uncoated papers work best.

A note about self printed targets.
On "some" printers, the X and Y axis do not print the same.
So the target ring might be 10mm H, but 12mm V.
If you are printing "regulation" targets, you need to measure the rings, as some printers do not print the size accurately.
So you could be printing a target small, and making it harder on yourself.
Been there, done that.

I keep a printer in my bb gun barn loaded with 60 lb paper I also have a sooting port hole with lights at 20 30 50 and 75 yds to outside.

I use 110# card stock left over from when I made Christmas cards one year. I've also used cereal boxes and 15 pack adult beverage cartons.
Recently bought some 22x28 inch poster/cardboard after watching a PB shooter at the range (.45 Sharps) that was using Shoot-N-C's at 100 yards.

I have been very happy with the pistoleer paper. Transactions have been timely and successful as ling as you follow instructions to pay. I prefer the heavier kind, works great in our small home printer.
