Dunno what they used but it seems to be very durable. I DID have other problems initially (broken cocking lever and valve stem) but thanks to JSAR & Troy Hammer those are takin care of. So far everything is working fine for me.Did shoot it again today, this time on full power and at 40yds. Seems to be doing well with the JSBs, I will eventually try other pellets. Filling it from the Nomad was a breeze, didn't take long and didn't heat up the air tube either. Luckily I have an ample supply of pellets to keep this thing well feed. It doesn't take long to burn up a 100 rounds in this gun.
