The quest to turn a average trigger into a slightly better- than-average trigger will take time and, in some case, extra cash. By the time you try new springs, install a sear spring guide, shim the trigger and sear, and buy a new, wider trigger, you can easily blow $20-$50.Best bang for the buck is to buy a P-Rod grip frame with the new two-stage trigger for $40 from Crosman, modify the existing hammer and call it a day. I have converted my 13xx/22xx pistols with this grip frame and adore them. This has become my #1 mod recommendation for these pistols.
