But how short is short enough? The original PB bullpups were very short, because they were designed specifically for close-quarter military ops. That's obviously never going to be a thing with pcp rifles. My guess is that most folks want a bullpup for one of 2 reasons:1: They are easier to transport without anyone noticing. 2: For a given overall length, they have longer barrels than a traditional rifle of the same overall length. Traditional pcp rifles can be VERY long, which can be a pain for other reasons. But let's concentrate on reason #1, which is surely the main one. Again, how compact do you need? For transport you can remove the shroud or moderator, so you save maybe 5 - 7" right there. With many higher-end rifles, you can also easily unscrew the barrel. If you do both of those things, you can them pretty easily fit even the longest slug-slinging bullpup into a medium sized backpack. One other thing to consider, when comparing bullpups, is: "How long is the barrel, really?" Sone factories tell you the actual length of the barrel, but many (Hatsan, for instance) include the shroud in that number, which makes no sense since the shroud doesn't help with power or lower spring settings, etc. AFAIK, when Impact says their gun has a 600mm barrel, it's 600mm of actual barrel. Hatsan says my Flashpup has a 19.4" barrel, but it's actually only 15" from the muzzle to the front of the breech block, and maybe 16.8" if you include the entire breech block opening. (Most of which is NOT actually part of the barrel.Just sayin ' .......
You can also look into the Brocock Atomic XR or any other pistol with a butt stock extension.
Thank you for all your contributions! 👍🏼 🔸rkr, I saw that gun in your avatar for years, fascinating, and I always wondered why I didn't see it in any store...! You clearly have something special: ▪19.7" = 50.0cm: Huub Viking Mk2 (extremely rare) Matthias
Not much info on it but an option.https://kralarms.com/en/puncher-empire-xs/#
