I like your. plan Elroy. I enjoy the mechanics part but I’m not confident in my wood working or metal refinish capabilities. Still, gotta have plan in place. I’d say your off to a good start.
it sounds like you have a fun and exciting new venture ahead of you.i love rebuilding my own guns and fishing reels and occasionally repairing guns and reels for friends / family but I sure wouldn't want to undertake the stress of being payed to do it, a lot of that has to do with the fact that I'm not an expert and have made a mistake or two that I'd hate to have been on customers guns.earlier last year i was resealing my benji 312 and dropped it, now because of that mistake it is currently off to have the barrel resoldered.it would be a real bad situation if the gun wasn't mine.
Pgritty, Thank you, the gentleman told me today, I may become a busy person with this, because he knew many more people who were going to be very happy to know there was someone capable and willing to repair the old classic pumpers and springers. He also told he would tell them that I am selective and that the process for accepting project includes an inspection of each rifle with customer present for defects including documenting and photographing noted issues, and discuss those items in addition to the initial work before deciding if it would be taken on as a project.I will say this site and the members are Great and while I have not met anyone face to face yet, I am not afraid to call them my friend, in joy the exchange of ideas, lending a helping hand or offer suggestions to think about. I have seen some great results based many subjects posted here on the GTA.

It would be one thing if it was a garage sale or ebay find because it could be replaced, might be expensive but doable. But someone's childhood gun would be a whole new story.Pat
