I put a .217 down the barrel and it was very very easy to push it wasn't gripping the rifle at all, put a .218 down the barrel and it grabbed very very well so I shot those.24.8 NSA slug- 6 Pumps 460-465 fps :-)24.8 NSA slug- 7 Pumps 499-500fps :-)At ~17 yards group was about 1/2" I must test at 25 Yards to get a true reading. My dilemma is do I want to go to 27.5 gr .218 slugs to get the extra slug surface area for accuracy along with an big increase in BC.More testing to follow !!!My very, very early testing with these slugs was not good, but I made mistakes while testing and my rest was not secure at all, today it was solid !!!!wll

I haven't pulled my barrel yet, do you just remove the set screw and slide it out?
DJ.... the barrel won't come off like that. The transfer port goes into the barrel so the breech will need to come off to get the barrel out.
Shot some more this early morning with the .218 24.8gr NSA slugs at 17.5 yards.I fired 7 shots they all we're within ~1/2 inch very, very acceptable. I'm doing my best to hold steady but I don't hold that steady if you know what I mean :-)My velocity was between 496fps and 501fps from cold start to finish - I'm pleased !As I've stated before I ordered some 27.5gr .218 slugs slugs to see how they do --- I expect to send them around 470fps - with the incredible ballistic coefficient of those slugs and the accuracy I'm getting with the 24.8gr'ers, I'll be set, game over ---- that will be the ammo I will use. That will give me around 12fpe at 45 yards along with outstanding momentum. The Taylor Knockout Factor is on par also - [Velocity (fps) × Bullet weight (grains) x Caliber (Inches) ÷ 7000]This formula gives you a figure for momentum that incorporates bullet diameter. The formula was used by John Taylor in the turn of the century for effectiveness of certain calibers on big game, and it held true. It does not take bullet shape or hollow points or ? into account --- it's a tool to take bullet weight, diameter and velocity into account for "knockdown" power on game.BTW: As I was typing this up, I got notification that my 27.5gr .218 slugs are on their way, hope to get them next week :- )Later.wll
Mine is making 18 fpe with a 29.9gr BBT. This is a 15 yard shot. 450 fps on 8 pumps
I am noticing some flex pumping up to eight pumps every time, I think a metal breech will help my issue. I also lubed the probe tip and o-ring, which now seems like maybe wasn't a good idea.
Did you ever figure out the air coming out of the bolt area? Sometimes I get a puff and my bolt handle jumps up.
