Just be aware (for those that maybe reading that are not aware) that the Crosman steel breech comes with the short nose bolt. You’ll want a long nose bolt to push the pellet past the transfer port on the 362.
once I get the extended probe installed and compare the velocities with the Crosman probe.

Everything to know about probes (including no probe ).Where I learned to use the flow-through probe many years ago.https://www.crosman-air-pistol-owners-forum.com/board/index.php/topic,10741.msg131480.html#msg131480
get the extended probe installed and compare the velocities with the Crosman probe. Overall, I do like this gun and playing with it this past weekend has been extremely therapeutic.

Overall, I do like this gun and playing with it this past weekend has been extremely therapeutic.I'd be interested in seeing the comparison in velocities. I like mine too. It was shaping up nicely before things started getting wonky. From my bedroom window I have my eye on the top of a telephone pole that is about 70 yards away. The pole is about 40 feet tall. If I still remembered how to do trigonometry I could figure out how far away that is.Pigeons like to congregate on top of that pole. There aren't any there at the moment, but they'll be back in a couple of month's. Hopefully by then I'll be able to hit pigeon sized targets at 80 yards or so with my 362. I might have even figured out how far away the top of that pole is too.
This work was done by Carl Quick, now deceased. Best ever forum moderator I have known. Here is a brief from the "Five Easy Probes" topic on CAPOF.He tested 5 probes, 2 were as manufactured, 3 were modifications. The topic order was by increasing fps; I present them in order of the probe images below - left to right.Flow-though probe --- 415 fpsDrill bit - 0.080" probe --- 417 fpsModified extended probe --- 415 fpsNO PROBE --- 426 fps This probe is a separate piece removed for firingOEM Crosman probe --- 386 fpsNote there is no unmodified extended probe.Note also that a standard Crosman probe does not fully move a pellet past the TP.

I was re-reading this passage from the hard air magazine article:"If it doesn’t snap into place easily, then something’s wrong. Try again! And maybe again…Now insert the rear slot head screw in the top rear of the breech and tighten “just enough”. That will hold everything together while you finish assembly. At this point we tried a “dry fire”, cocking the bolt and pulling the trigger. If everything works well, you can replace those tiny setscrews in the breech and barrel band. Tighten-up the slot-head breech screw, too."--My new steel breech installed easily. Everything snapped into place. Inserted the rear slot head screw in the top rear of the breech and tightened it “just enough”.Tried a dry fire and the gun wouldn't fire. I had put the new extension probe and handle in and I cocked the bolt to dry fire it, but the gun won't fire.Help!
