Midway has about 20 available molds for .45, I have many and at air gun speeds, any that will fit are viable for you. The LEE mold is cheap and good for a first mold, it has the "tumble lube" grooves that make it easy to size, it shoots very well and has a good meplat as well as a sharp shoulder for very nice paper punching. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010199558?pid=232646

Bill the thing that's really nice about the big bore side lever Challengers is the allowable length of slugs is ideal, with my .357 bolt action you're only allowed to shoot shorter slugs in them with the magazine. The do work good without a magazine however then you're going single shot whereas the sidelever models allow for a much longer slug in the magazine which is really nice. I got a couple nice fox squirrels with my .22 Challenger today which is bolt action however it cocks much easier than my .357 bolt action. Lever action is the way to go for those big bore Challengers IMO because they allow for a longer magazine and you have that nice lever action. The lever action would be a no brainer however when I bought my .357 they didn't have the lever action ones yet.
Just go for a Zeus .72 There's a couple in the classified already, go big or go home
Bill all the AEA guns do have plenty of power out of the box, even the 22 challenger that I've got is doing 70fpe at mach speeds with slugs right out of the box adjustments. I also like hearing that sound barrier break because I'm out hunting on state land in the wide open anyway, it's not as loud of report though, not the same as shooting a powder burner. It sure would be nice if the .22 came with a side lever it doesn't. The thing that I'm really liking about my AEA's is the fact they're basically a hunting gun to begin with.
Thanks for all the quick replies, keep em coming. Please keep in mind, I'm really only considering the AEA Challenger in .45 or .50.Dan H, those last 2 videos from Bob were awesome... thank you. I'll be viewing those more as this venture continues. I think they will help me decide what samples to purchase and test before buying a mold.At this point, I'm leaning towards the .45 due to mold options. How about and affordable melting pot? (if that's the right term).I'm also hearing about sizing... what does that require?
