I cut down a scratch and dent QB78 stock to make a short pull stock for short shooters. Problem is, it is not exactly a standard butt plate size anymore. OK, not even close.
Anyone have suggestions on where to get a rubber butt pad, and how to trim it to fit? Thanks.

You could try Midwayusa and get a generic butt pad. Or try ebay. Then shape it to fit with a stationary belt sander.

Second on the MidwayUsa suggestion. Pachmayr makes a bunch of "Grind To Fit" pads in various
sizes and thicknesses. Checkout the F250 series in either black or brown w/wo white line for starters.
Easy to use.

Oh I forgot to ad. I had gone to a plastic shop and got a piece of 3/16'' black piece of scrap for a spacer.

Ahh. Belt sander. That's how it gets fit. Thank you - good excuse for new tool!

Both Midway USA and Natchez Supply have a good selection... Brownells is probably the most complete selection I think they have 40-50 types... Call them up for a Really Nice!! FREE catalog... I have a couple of Morgan butt plate/pads on my guns... My favorite regular style rubber pad is the Pachmyr 'Signature' Pad.. It is ultra clean with hidden screw holes(greased screw is inserted through tiny razor blade cut) and a basketweave pattern.... They also offer white and black pad spacers. Good luck with your project!!! Greg
