Title: More American made air guns. Airforce, and Crosman is now Velocity Outdoor
Post by: Gman414 on January 23, 2019, 06:12:56 PM
Hi All, I was just watching some Shot Show 2019 coverage on American airgunner channel and heard some new(?) information.  First Crosman and Benjamin is now owner by a holding group and the parent company is called Velocity Outdoors. Second Airforce airguns I thought I heard is an American Company and should be includedon this Forum? Airforce purchased a company located in Kentucky called RAW or Rapid Air Weapons. Is this not an American Company also?  Just trying to help out because I try to buy American even if I have to pay a little more.  Thanks for the Post.

So I figured I would do a DDG search of American made airguns. I found more companies with high end products: American Air Arms and Western Big Bore guns. American airarms dot com. Western Big Bore is available at Airguns of Arizona. Moderators: Gertrude or long hunter,  Can we help promote these American air gun companys and add Gates for each of these companies?

Both AirForce and RAW airguns are US made. But they are all pcps and so posts regarding them go over on the dark side gate. Pretty sure neither has a dedicated gate.

We already promote American Air Arms since they are active here on the GTA and also an approved vendor. We support those that support us

Don beat me to it. Also, as MI Yeti stated, they are pcp's, and, as such, belong in the pcp gate.

I wish they wouldn't have changed Crosman's name to their consortium name. That rarely bodes well for the future. Besides the established customer base getting a kick in the slats. I don't want Crosman's named on the air guns replaced with this dumb business name. Pretty lame move.

Don’t think there’s any desire to drop the Crosman name:

The name change does not impact any of the company’s consumer brands, among them Crosman and Benjamin Airguns, CenterPoint Archery and Optics, LaserMax, Copperhead, and GameFace Airsoft. Velocity Outdoor will encompass these historic brands, which are known for innovation, performance, quality and value.

Aside from what others have already said, it is not our job to promote companies.  It is theirs.  And they do it best by standing by their products and offering superlative products.  When they meet our needs by offering such products, we are vocal and thus the products get promoted.

Luckily we have great moderators that would in no way shape or form allow the "selling out" of these forums by promoting certain airguns just because of where they are made- especially since these are international forums with members from all over the world.
