Pellet to barrel fit

I have a small handful of beeman fts pellets that shoot very very well through my trail. Anyway I figured I would order some H&N ftt's of the same size. Anyway, the beemans measure out to .219(5.56). But, I found that when loaded, they are crushed down to .217(5.51). Is this bad for the gun? Or is a pressed fit like that alright?

Are you measuring the head or the skirt?.... The head should be a nice fit in the grooves of the barrel.... The skirt is usually quite a bit larger (up to 0.010") and collapses to fit the barrel and is then expanded by the air/CO2 to provide a perfect seal....

The H&N FTT's are available in a few head sizes, and you may want to try all of them to see what your lady prefers.

It isn't bad for the barrel, in the sense that it will not damage the barrel. But that does seem like an extreme amount of oversizing so you may find the bore to need cleaning more frequently due to lead buildup. I would not advise cleaning preemptively though, just when you notice accuracy is opening up.
