I have a Don Cothran Disco style .357 SS rifle. Air has been leaking past the poppet, when I chucked up the poppet to reface the seal area I noticed the seal washer is loose. I took the poppet apart, it consisted of a threaded shaft, accetel washer, and a bronze cylinder with female threads for the shaft, the seal washer being between. I have two questions. What is the sealant used to assemble the poppet? It is white in color and sets up hard. I can make a new washer, can it be peek instead of accetel? I would just buy new from Don, but he doesn't appear to be doing business at present. Regards, Tom
I have 4 or 5 of the poppets brand new in a bag if anyone is interested. PM me.

Back again, I used black acetel, should I have used white? Seems I remember that black is more slippery than white. Regards, Tom
I think I may not have tightened it enough, I was using a 12" lathe chuck and tail stock drill bit chuck to tighten and was afraid to go too tight. I used a drill motor last night and it stopped so I know it is tight enough. Thanks for all the help. Regards, Tom
It's built like a Disco, but the only disco parts are the stock and stock attachment screw. The action and airtube are SS It has a 32" TJ steel barrel and does 200fpe using Nosler 145gr bullets at 3000lbs, 225fpe at 3500lbs. It has a hammer spring power adjuster and Marauder trigger with Challenger trigger guard. It also has a Roy Kasten moderator. Today I have to grind the seal and seat interface as it's still leaking a bit. Regards, Tom
