You could get away with the NOE bushings, sitting in a piece of steel tubing or a block of steel with the appropriate sized hole drilled in it.... or even a socket.... plus the NOE pushrod to tap on.... That would allow you to get started and then pick up the NOE die body when they are available....Do you already have a press (Lee or similar)?.... That is what the NOE die body screws into, and the pushrod slides into the shell holder on the ram of the press.... This is the one I have....https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1013020665?pid=807734I mounted mine upside down, it makes it a whole lot easier to drop the slug into the bushing, and no more pinched fingers....Bob
This is very helpful thank you. The only thing I need help with now is picking a Die that can actually work. Lots of things listed as .257 sizing does on eBay but they all look wrong- complicated with little pins and they don't look like the things that you guys are showing me here. If any of you can provide a link to a place that has one of these in stock Or an eBay listing that would be the right thing it would be greatly appreciated. The magic marker push through solution seems perfect for me but those inexpensive presses look good too.
I just ordered bushings from noe. Should be pretty trivial to rig a cylinder to set the bushing in and a plunger to push the pellets through using 3-D printed parts. Thank you I am now ready to receive my TJ's .257 barrel!
Midsouth now offers the Lyman H&I Lube and Size Die .251 Diameter. The Lube and Size Die is essential for casting accurate bullets. This die is constructed of hardened steel and has a tapered mouth that will guarantee the correct alignment. The die has lubrication holds spaced at 90 degrees to make even the hard type lubes easy to apply. The Lyman H&I Lube Dies are interchangeable with RCBS dies.
