This is a link to the USARB web page. The USARB is the sanctioning body governing air rifle benchrest shooting in the US.
To become an active club able to be recognized on the scoreline and other requires only that the club register with the USARB and submit a small fee of 25$. Of course, any matches held are to be done following the rules of the USARB.....including using approved targets at specified distances.
There is a new Springer class that is on a 12 month trial basis pending participation. If there doesn't seem to be much interest.....they will pull the plug on that class.
I know there a ton of guys that get together for fun shoots and such here on the forum.....simply forming a club and having a bench match included during your get togethers might be a blast for everyone.
There is also a new Production class that you can read about on the main page, too. There is pretty much a class for every rifle and shooter. If you form a club and submit match scores.....they will be included in the National Scoreline Series which is maintained on the website.
Benchrest is an awful lot of fun, and there is a very minimal investment of time and money to become a part of a good active organization and grow the sport. There are typically regional and national events held throughout the year that may be in driving distance for many.
Check out the site, and see what bench shooting has to offer. It's a lot of fun.....and very addicting.
