More and more optics manufacturers are coming out with first focal plane scopes. I have used a few and I am sold on the idea. Not having to adjust your holdover when you change magnification is awesome.
Hawke offers the sidewinder in FFP f, Hatsan has an optima FFP for under 200.00 and MTC and Aztec both have dropped FFP models.
So...what are your thoughts and experiences?

That's good news. It only makes sense. With the reticle on a second focal plane, mil dots aren't mil dots if you're not in the right magnification.

Two of my three air rifles are FFP scoped. Changing magnification without a change in POI is just so easy and convenient to me.

I have a Monstrum 2-7 on a Hatsan P2 Tactical. and just added a Hiram 4-16 on a Recluse. I do like them on guns I tend to use more holdover with.

Discovery Optics has some great first focal plane scopes. I may be bias because I sell them, lol, but I do have some bsa scopes for sale as well, and was surprised at the difference in clarity. Not to put down BSA, as I know lots of guys like them. Just my own experience. The BSA are great price though for a first focal plane, and seem a a nice solid Scope.

I’ve only had it a week, so it needs a longer trial period. But I’m really liking my Aztec Emerald 5.5x25x50mm FFP. I looked at a lot of other scopes in its price range, love the uncluttered reticle, illumination, red or green. You get a full MOA of space around the center dot, no obscuring of the aim point. As for the holdovers being true at all magnifications, yes but I can’t reference them under 10x anyway, anything under that and I’m using the center point of the reticle. Last night I shot a 5 shot, 1/2” group at 25x at 50 yards the target was lit by my flashlight, Compatto, bipod, no rear bag. Hating on the early darkness, can’t shoot after work.
