Looks good, Randall!I don't care much for illumination, as they just make the scope heavier. I prefer a lightweight scope.
I always like hearing about scopes. The rats better watch out, you are ready for them.
Well, I purchased this scope on Jimmy’s (WiseGuy) recommendation from Charlie over at Air Gun Optics Plus. Had not read much on this manufacturer, thought I’d give them a try as I had been looking for another FFP scope. Charlie’s communication was impeccable and shipped the scope out the same day! The scope is quite light for its 14” length with 30mm tubes, matte black, DLT FFP MIL Reticle, resettable lockable turrets, front and rear caps and a smart phone adapter. The scope is well balanced, the glass is CLEAR, the reticle is fine but not too fine, eye relief is very generous, the click stops on the turrets are smooth with a noticeable pressure so as not to have any slop, each click always feeling the same. In use the parallax focuses to just under 10yds to infinity. This model has no illumination, others do. I think this glass is at least on par with Athlons and Vortex’s mid tier FFP offerings being much more affordable. They also come with a lifetime warranty. There are some videos showing the manufacturer putting the scope through some very rigorous stress tests. Charlie’s prices were the best I could find and he is very helpful with a customer first mindset if you are interested. I mounted it on my Daystate HRXL .22 and this scope compliments it beautifully. I am very pleased with this scope and want to thank Jimmy for recommending this scope and Charlie at Air Gun Optics Plus for being so helpful.
Glad you are liking it Dillon, I really like these scopes! The HS 4-14x44 FFP is my favorite so far for being so light weight at 560g and such clear glass that is easy to focus with the eye, and I love the reticle!
That's a nice looking scope, with nice specs too! I think I'd have to paint the blue parts too though. I came very close to getting one of those!
Good review. Moved your thread to the Scope/Optics Review gate. How much did the scope cost if I may ask? Harry

When I first saw a review of that particular scope I found the very busy reticle to be very "off-putting". Having used a second focal plane reticle for decades I also had questions concerning a first focal plane reticle that literally gets larger, smaller, thicker, thinner with scope power changes. The second focal plane scopes like my 4-12x50 Hawke AirMax (a front AO version) has a rather fine etched reticle that "gets lost" on a dark target in the shade. LOL....I couldn't imagine using the Hawke AMX reticle if it got even thinner when turning down the scope power for hunting. Even before the hunter class field target rules were changed from 12x max setting to a 16x max setting the 4-12x50 Airmax with AMX reticle was only used for a couple matches because I literally couldn't separate the reticle from the occasional dark painted target that was set in a dark shady lane. Unless there was "perfect lighting on a light colored target" which doesn't happen much under WV or NC "woods conditions", I seems to me that this thin busy unlit reticle wouldn't be very useful. I'm really wondering what happens when this FFP scope power was turned down from 18x (for hunting) and the close spaced lines at the center of the reticle are even closer spaced. Perhaps some feedback about using the Discovery VT-T 4.5-18x44SFVF in "shady woods" at less than 18x would be interesting. Perhaps I'm completely wrong, however my experience with the unlit reticle of my Hawke AirMax suggests that the concernc may be valid.Anywhoo..........the review of the VT-T 4.5-18x44SFVF caused me to investigate the "then unheard of by me" Discovery line of scopes and spend a few coin for the SFP VT-2 4-16x50 Discovery I ordered with this "Hawke style" reticle (can be lit).........Maybe not a issue but the weight of the VT-T 4.5-18x44SFVF with 30mm tube and 44mm objective without reticle lighting weighs 760 grams (26.46 oz).http://www.discovery-optics.com/index.php?m=Product&a=show&id=172 On the other hand, the weight of the VT-2 4-16x50 SFIR-N with 1" tube, 50mm objective with reticle lighting is lighter but still "heavier than I like" at 680 grams (23.98 ounces).

So far this paint is still good after a couple months...........A little touch up needed here where the flip up cover didn't get completely covered..........
