Hello all Louisiana air gun hunters.  Yes, Louisiana permits the use of air rifles for the taking of squirrels, rabbits, and etc.  The quoted material below is from Page 42 of the 2015-16 Louisiana Hunting Regulations.

Handgun, rifle and falconry (special permitrequired) is legal for taking all gamespecies EXCEPT turkey.. Air rifles are legal for taking squirrels, rabbits, and outlaw quadrupeds. The season opens October 3, 2015 (Page 40).  Good hunting to all.Mike - Lafayette Parish

Cw, thanks for the greeting.  This is the first time I have been back to this gate.  So, please forgive me for the late reply.

Some Louisiana hunters are enjoying using air rifles for hinting small game.  And the Spring Squirrel Season is a bonus.  I have talked my son and younger brother into hunting with those “Pellet Guns”.  I truly believe my brother is hooked.  My son - the jury is still out!
Shoot often and shoot straight.

Hello Louisiana friends and neighbors [or maybe I should say ex-neighbors.]
This year has been a strange one.  My Judy and I have put our Louisiana house up FOR SALE and moved to Tennessee.  Our only child, a son, and his family live in Murfreesboro.  The two grandsons will help to keep Judy and me young for many years to come.  This is not a "Goodbye".  Rather it is a "See you later when we visit Cajun Country."
