Hatsan 250XT TAC BOSS CO2 BB pistol

I've been watching a Hatsan 250XT CO2 BB pistol in the "Clearance Corner" of my local farm & home store for several months. I can't remember seeing it in the regular priced area of the sporting goods section but the first price I saw in the clearance section was $50. I wasn't too interested in a $50 BB gun so I just noted it was there. Initial markdowns vary but usually start out at around 30% which would have made for ~$70 original price. This store has a stepped discounting process that starts at 25%, then 50% and finally 75%. Bottom line is that when in the store earlier this week, it was down to 75% AND still on the shelf! Maybe that was telling me something but for $13 and change "out the door", I took a chance and bought it
.
I've been a bit busy with other issues and have yet to even open the packaging but plan on getting to that today or tomorrow. I did (post-purchase) do a bit of internet research. Not a lot of info out there and it seems that it is not currently in production. Some individual reports indicated that the CO2 cart/valve interface might be a source of problems. I'm wondering if there might be things I could do early on to minimize issues. This, of course, would be the basics like a bit of pell gun oil on the tip of the CO2 cart. Might it be better to use silicon oil? Does the gun have to be "field stripped" and degreased prior to first use? Since this was the last gun in the store (and they have a NO REFUND policy on the deeply discounted clearance items) AND the fact that the gun s no longer available from Hatsan, I want to maximize the potential for normal function on first use. Maybe I'm expecting too much
. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be appreciative.
Thanks in advance.
