Anyone in GTA land have experience with this gun? If so please describe your experience. I assume it's another one of Hatsan's heavy artillery pieces.
-What is the out of box cocking effort/force like?
-Can it be tamed by detuning?
-How is the stock trigger and is it mod friendly?
-Is it inherently accurate and will detuning adversely affect the accuracy?
-I've read where someone swapped a Crosman gas piston in one. Anyone know of this particular mod?
Lots of questions I know, any advise is appreciated.

Looks to be now out of production, but the specs are close to the Hatsan 85-95 actions but with a plastic stock. Are you looking to buy one?
Sorry, not much info on the web. Hatsan made rifles sold under the Browning, Remington, Webley, Winchester name etc. They will make one for anyone who will commit to a contract for X number of units from what I've seen.

Indeed, very little web talk about the Browning Gold John. I would consider buying one if I knew more about the gun and if I could find one. Apparently they weren't particularly popular or a big seller. I'm intrigued by the barrel lock design, the two or three guns I'm aware of with a barrel lock have good accuracy and consistent grouping.

Take a look at my thread here on tuning a Hatsan 95. From the description of the Browning Gold, these same techniques should help a lot:
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=138970.0
The Hatsan 95 can be made into a quite pleasant rifle with a bit of tuning work.

Thanks for the link Michael, it's an informative read. I do believe the Browning Gold lacks the Quattro trigger. From what I have read though, the trigger it does have isn't neccesarily a bad one.
Interestingly , a Browning Gold was also marketed at 495 fps, I assume for the Canadian market. I'd like to know how it was detuned, I'm guessing a hole was drilled in the compression cylinder.

I just ran across this post tonight. It reminded me that I have a Browning Gold in .177 cal.!
Actually, I never shot it but did have a bad experience with it a little longer than a year ago.
I was picking it up to show someone when I had it for sale at a gun show, and I had it by the pistol grip.
S-N-A-P!
The weight of the gun snapped the PG at the thinnest part of the wrist.
WOW said I! I've never had that happen before, however, it did support my thinking regarding poly stocks and their worth. Whenever I have a choice between wood and poly, I will forever choose the wooden version!
However, I digress.
I ended up calling the manufacturer to see if they would honor an outdated warranty since the gun was unfired, and I did nothing wrong? They wanted to see the damage, so I sent it off to them and after they viewed it, they emailed me back and told me that the gun had been discontinued, and they didn't have any replacement poly stocks. They did ask me if I would accept a wooden stock though because they did have those. I didn't even know they made it in a wooden stock version?
I jumped on it!
They didn't charge me a dime and sent it back to me promptly. I put it back on myself and what an aesthetic improvement it made! The gun is gorgeous and until now I had forgotten that I still own it.
I think I will do some searching and see if there has been any additional information posted about this gem-in-the-rough?
