My first pitbull was born shortly before I was and we literally grew up together.
I have always been and will always be a pitbull lover.
This is pepper, she is now 10 months old.

In the coming up on 64 yrs I've been alive I've had more dogs than I can count. I've loved everyone of them (even a couple that didn't care for me). When I lose one a little part of me dies with the dog. Then another will pick me to be their companion and that little piece that died sparks back to life. I have two now having lost my beloved pekingese, Teddy just 3 weeks ago today. He chose me 1 week after my big dog died and was my companion and best friend for 10 years. I'll wait and see who picks me this time.

I've had dogs all my life (even some my parents kept were considered "my dogs). I've buried a bunch, held several heads in my hands as they passed away.
We have two "Rat Terriers" now. Polly and Lolly. Don't ask how it gets started, but if you have registered dogs, they have to be named something unique, and I want to be able to call them something without seeming stupid (usually I call them together with a unique sound that I can make so I don't need their names), so "Brown's Sweet Polly Purebred" and "Brown's Sweet Lolly" it became when I want to call them separately. I had a Scottish Terrier that was named "Brown's Captain Dawg," and I never could get used to calling him Captain when I wanted his attention so all the dogs since have had names that were easy to call.
Funny story about Polly and Lolly - they are half-sisters, and they went crazy together for a while. Not sure what happened, but they both suffered for a while (got bad enough that we thought they were done for). Funny symptom was when they forgot there was another dog in the house sometimes. It was OK if only one of them did it at a time, but if they both did it at the same time, it could be a battle royal until they were separated. Now they are just old.

I love dogs huge and small but these days I prefer them medium size like pit bulls so I can pick them up if I need to rush them to the vet during an emergency which is hard for me to do now with a 200lb+ dog. Good looking doggies in this thread.

The wrecking crew. On the left, Flash, vertically challenged Labrador/Dachshund mix. On the right Flytrap (real name Sadie), a true Hienz 57. We think Aussie/Weimaraner or maybe German short haired pointer and something huge and clumsy. Both two time losers from the pound. They were both slated to be put down before we adopted them. Today they are inseparable. They love to hunt and working together they are almost a good hunting dog.
Yeah, there’s a reason we have ugly leather furniture and tile floors.

Hmmm. Spoiled dog, ugly leather furniture. I’m starting to see a trend here.
