I’ve been shooting a crossman 1377 and a daisy 880 recently at short ranges indoors where I don’t need a lot of velocity. Even one pump has been enough to get a pellet on target at 8-10 yards, but the manual (at least for the 880) says to use a minimum of 3 pumps. Is there any real negative of using 1-2 pumps instead, other than a little less velocity?
My Daystate puts out 6 fpe w/ .22 on 1 pump. Its top with a Simmons scope (japan) harris bipod factory mod. I purchsed this gun with setup from the original owner years ago.
Most of my self cockers pump guns won't cock on one pump. The hammer drop models can fire on one pump sometimes.I don't see any reason it would be bad for the gun, just make sure the BB / pellet clears the barrel.
