So I bought a Westhunter 4-16 FFP the other day (Happy Birthday to me), and my daughter and I were shooting yesterday. I'd shoot a magazine, then she would shoot a magazine. This time she shoots once, then says, "Where'd that pellet go?" She shoots a few more, and we find out that the POI had jumped about 2" to the right between magazine changes, landing in an old group still on the target. Gun's still shooting tight (for me) groups, just way off. I move the aim point 2" right, and now the POI is 2" left of where I aimed. Undo the adjustment, and now we're where were at the start of this whole fiasco. I switched to 25 yards from 30, and it did it again; the POI hopped about 1.5" to the left.
Is this the sort of thing I can expect from a cheap scope? Is this thing breaking in, or broken? It's still under Amazon's return policy, and I'm tempted to just stuff it back in its box and get my money back.
