Anywhoo- I tried to warn everyone about the shortcomings of certain failure prone guns and scopes and lack of warranty support from certain manufacturers and dealers who don't care about after point of sale support after they took your money and blatant disregard to customers kicked to the curb after spending their hard earned money and the people simply wouldn't heed my sounding the alarm bells early on and think I'm a real jerk sticking it back in their faces after they cry 4 help after the fact.

Neo saw the cat walking by the door twice and when they asked him what was wrong, that's what he said in the movie.

I ordered one. Came in yesterday. I’m an old school rifle shooter and I still advise people to spend as much on optics as they do a rifle. Leupold VX-2/3 has been my go to scopes for years. The TruGlo is better than I expected. I’ve been curious about FFP scopes and this satisfies as an itch on that scratch. The controls are; not surprisingly, overly stiff. I am considering trying to remove the heavy grease in favor of a looser silicon oil. It is a heavy scope (also not a surprise). I prefer the size and weight of the 2-7x33 VX-II Leupold on my long guns, but considering the application of this scope it’s hard (or expensive) to go light weight - higher magnification, adjustable objective on side. It feels robust. I’m not willing to use my scope as a test guinie pig. Glass is clear of obvious defect. It’s overcast here today and the image is bright and undistorted around the mildot. The edges look fine, but not competitive with scopes cost multiples. Parallax adjustment works fine. I am comfortable with the image at 10 yards even though the specs claim 20 yards as the minimum adjustment. The FFP is a revelation. I’m not sure how it effects the weight, but the enlarging reticle and its implications as a holdover aiming device (useful across the entire range of magnification) is just amazing to me. Eye relief is as rated. 3-3.5”. No need to crawl the stock as long as the rings provide adequate mounting adjustment range. I’d prefer a large eyebox, but this is acceptable. I’ve never had a side adjustable parallax wheel. If all things were equal it would be much easier to adjust than turning a ring ON the objective bell. I wish the wheel was larger and less stiff. These minor issues my work themselves out through use. The scope came with silicone bikini, and el cheapo lens cloth. Packing is definitely on the budget end of things, but midway put plenty of bubble bags in the oversized shipping box. There was zero signs of shipping mishandling. I have not had to opportunity to shoot yet. I’m slowly gathering my instruments to get into PCP shooting and still need my rifle. Anyone wanting a test report is going to need a different user at this point. It’s hard to find info about this scope online. I wonder if this scope marks a withdrawal from the magnification scope line by TruGlo. If that’s the case this product might be a limited number in the market. I imagine it’s made in the same Chinese factory as half a dozen other similar scopes. I with I knew which ones. I’m satisfied with the product at this point. The glass is better than I expected. I hesitate to give this a rating since I can’t use it as intended yet; that said, I do not regret the purchase. *edited to fix typo
Mine came in Wednesday and I’ve had an opportunity now to use it a bit. The reticle is quite different than the one depicted on the product page but the differences are all positive in my view. Firstly, the reticle is nice and fine for precision aiming, unlike the fat one pictured. Secondly, the mildots run almost all the way to the bottom of the sight picture when at full magnification, whereas the listing showed just 4 mildots descending only about half way down the reticle. That’s great if you’re into really reaching out there. And thirdly, it has half-dot hashes. Very nice. Note however that the tradeoff of a fine reticle in a FFP scope is that it becomes ever more faint at low magnification. It is but a wisp at 4x, and the mildots and hashes don’t grow distinct enough to be useful until the magnification is increased to about 9x. Neither of those is of any consequence for the type of shooting I do but I wanted to mention it in case it does for you. The turrets dial nicely. I like the “lift to adjust, press down to lock” feature. The focus wheel was very difficult to turn at first but it freed up to my satisfaction after just a few back and forth cycles. The markings are way off. For example it needs to be on 20 to focus on a target at 30. By no means is that unique to this scope, virtually every one I’ve ever owned has needed new markings so I don’t count that as a negative. Clarity and brightness are both quite good. Compared to other value scopes I have in the $75 - $150 bracket, I’d say it ranks up there with the best of them. Way better than the ubiquitous Centerpoint 4-16x40 of yesteryear. More comparable to the better ones like a Nikko-Stirling 4-12x50. I didn’t do a tracking test (e.g. box test). All I can say is the turrets allowed me to find zero quickly and easily. I’m strictly a holdover person once it’s zeroed. No dialing. Weight? Pffffft. Six ounces in one direction or the other doesn’t make any difference to me. Overall I’m very happy with what all it delivers for $100. If I were looking to choose between it and the aforementioned Bestsight 5-15x50 from Aliexpress, it would come down to these two considerations: 1. Do I prefer the extra long holdover markings (Truglo) or do I want illumination (Bestsight)?2. Do I want it now (Truglo from Midway) or can I wait (Bestsight from Aliexpress) and save $25?
Has anyone tried this scope on a springer like the D48? Can it hold up to springer recoil I wonder?
