Hello everyone. Just wanted to drop a few lines and see what you all think about organizing some kind of Air Gun meet and greet here in So Cal somewhere. I think it would be cool for us to meet up, hang out and do some plinking And shoot the @$%^. I may have a place where we can do all that completely legal and legit. I'd like to hear what you all think and or maybe enlist your help putting something like this together. I'm out here in riverside county and most of my friends look at me like I'm weird when I tell them I'm going to shoot my Air gun over the weekend, (which they don't have much interest in doing).Which is ok because I look at them the same way when they ask me why would I want to do that. Anyways So I'm sure someone has already done put some events like this together before so please feel free to chime in with any thoughts, ideas, concerns , suggestions, etc. I'd really like to make something like this happen in the near future if possible, I just don't know the in & outs , steps that need to be taken. Are there legalities and safety issues that need to be worked out? What all am I getting into trying to do something like this? Let me now what you all think, it would be greatly appreciated. And if Anyone wants to help out in any way cool the more people involved the better chance of this being a success. Thanks for your time. Respectfully

yeah when you have the house and a nice piece of property it makes things easier. Well I thought by now there would be more people interested and replying. It doesn't have to be anything big. A good family friend owns & operates a small hunting ranch that I think would be awesome to set up a an outdoor range at for whomever wanted to come up and shoot. Air guns only though, don't want to disrupt anyone Else's activity's at the ranch. I will check with him and see what he thinks and post an update. Thanks for your reply and interest.

I would be interested in meeting up/shooting with some fellow airgunners. Riverside is very close to me. I live in Rancho Cucamonga.

Check it out. http://www.socasa.org/ (http://www.socasa.org/)
We shoot at least 4 times per month. Heavens Ranch is our Chino Hills Venue. Larry Pirrone is Rangemaster.
The best way to learn safe gun handling is to camp out with one of the CASA rangemasters for the day.
Event details and last minute info on the Delphi CASA Forum.

I don't think I can arrange it this weekend until I talk to him. See they have other events that go on there, they have a bow and arrow club that meets up for fun shoots as well as hunting. So it may come down to scheduling. Stay tuned in and I'll post an update after I talk to him.

This weekend I'm most likely tied up with a service for a friend who is slipping away in hospital as I write. With luck though if its a weekend I can make it I can get my brother along too as he lives in Anza.

All is understood family and friends who need us come first. When and if this happens I'm sure the more people who show interest and show up the more fun it will be. Stay tuned and ill post a update, as more info becomes available. I still need to talk to my friend and see what he thinks as its his place that we would meet up at.

I personally would welcome anyone who simply has an interest and it doesn't matter if you have a springer or PCP, the whole point is to get us enthusiasts together for a very informal meet and greet to put names to faces and have fun target shooting or just simply showing off our air guns.

Ok cool. Yeah your not far at all, Murrieta is just down the road a few. Dont know if your into Field Target at all but as "TimmyMac1" mentioned above there is a pretty cool group of guys that meet up a couple of times a month. I went out to a match at "Heavens Ranch" in Chino Hills and it was awesome. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and welcoming. Im trying to make it to the next match there which i believe is Saturday October 13 @ 8:00 a.m. You dont have to shoot the match but can come out to meet fellow Air gunners and shoot the @$%^ and learn about Field Target matches. I would bring your guns though and targets to use on the practice range, and bring whatever water refreshments you need, it was friggen hot when i went and i was parched after the match lol. Here's a link for anyone interrested to check out.

Also Just to update everyone, I haven't had a chance to talk to my buddy about us meeting up at his ranch, as we both have been so busy that getting together hasn't been an option lately. We both have toddlers and our wifes like to do the whole play date thing so hopefully they will get together soon so we can dicuss it. :-\

I know this is an old post but what happens to these meets? They just seem to fizzle out. Well, its been awhile since anyone has posted to meet up and I am willing, just need a place and time! We need to bring these old posts back to life and get something organized!

CASA has official events 3 times each month. 1st Sunday Silho @ Angeles, 2nd Saturday FT at HR, 4th Sunday FT @ Angeles. Besides that LD runs BR on the 3rd Sunday in Temecula, Joe F runs BR in Oxnard 2nd Sunday and Shadetree does Silho 3rd Sat @ Angeles. There are lots of practice matches at various venues you can find at the CASA web site which links to the Delphi CASA forum to get up to date info about practices and club activities.
Basically you just show up and there are things to get involved in for sure. As a club member you can get discounts at club shoots.
Everyone is welcome but some of our events are more practical for bringing kids. The First Sunday Silho is also a Safety Program for newbies. I run that match and that is the place to start if you ask me. It can be a big boost to get one on one type attention from experienced AGunners. CASA has been around since 1984 and has members with loads of experience.

I went to the FT match (just to watch and check it out) at HR yesterday.
It was my first time to a FT match and was interesting.
I was welcomed by everyone there and they were a great bunch of guys.
Guess I'm going to have to learn some more about the different classes, rules / regulations.
I'll certainly be watching for more shoots there, and I look forward to bringing my daughter next time.
Thanks to Rick, Larry, Art, and all the rest of the guys who were there.
(I don't remember everyone's names yet)

Hey all, just been reading all these post!! I live in Thousand Oaks,Ventura County.Rather than go for the day somewhere why not set up a meeting spot in an area we can camp, bbq, shoot, hunt, etc, and have a good old time. That way people can come for the day or camp out and make a weekend of it with there family.Just an idea to throw out. 8) Please email or PM me for any help I can offer to find a spot to do this.

Old thread, great idea.
Once the snow thaws I say we all go out and plink ....
Perhaps pearblossom area?? I know a little used area...
What you All think?????

Is it legal in Cali? :o
My bad. Just thought there might be a law against 2 or more people gathering with bb guns.
