Title: What finish for laminate stock?

I bought a laminate stock where the inletting isn't finished.  The exterior has a light satin sheen to it.  Does anyone have any ideas on what type of finish is typically used on laminate stocks?

Thank you!  I like to do the inletting and also brush it lightly on the checkering.
