Title: more request for nwa
Post by: cmhobbs on January 11, 2019, 06:26:03 PM
Saw a few posts from months past.  Is there any regular airgun activity here in Northwest Arkansas?

Anyone know of decent places to shoot or if there are any shops in the region?  I typically just plink in my back yard but I do hike often and the rangers have told me that airguns are allowed in the ozark national forest (except the wedington region).  I'm not sure if that's the lake, the township, or what.

Just seeing if there's still any activity in the area!  ;)

The local club (NASA)  has silhouette matches every 1st and 3rd Wedneday at Outdoor America (archery shop) in Springdale.  Just got back from tonight's match.  Quite informal.  $6 for the first scorecard, $1 for additional.  We generally have a 20 point pistol match to start, and then 2 - 40 point rifle matches.

That sounds terrific!  Is it springers only?  I don't have any match-grade air arms at the moment but I have my eye on a few. It might be fun just to go watch a couple times.  What time do the events start and does NASA have a webpage?

Thanks!

Not springers only.  Run whatcha brung.  This is very informal.  Plenty of heckling.  there's a NASA facebook page with all the info.  We try to start at 6, but again it's pretty informal.  And there's no showing up *to watch*.  Even if you show up without a gun, one will be forced into your hands and you will be made to shoot at least one match.

Unfortunately it looks like the NASA fb page requires a fb account to view.  I'll stop by in the coming months and see what it's all about.  Sounds like my kind of event!

Thanks for the information!
