.177 long range ?
lennyk:
are many slinging 177 at 100yards ?
Doesn't seem so, otherwise what are typical long ranges for 177 paper punchers ?

For me anything more than 50 to 60 yards is just plinking for fun. The range I go to has a dedicated pellet shooting line out to 110 yards. At the 100 yard line there is an 8" metal saw blade that I can hit with my S510 and D460 but that is with heavy pellets and no wind ;D With my .22 .25 and 30 rifles it is progressively easier as the caliber pellet /bullet weight goes up

It's been done with the .177

I'm currently building up to trying it myself, but I think I need some better glass than the UTG 4-16x44 I'm using now. So far I can nail a water bottle that's about 1.25" diameter consistently at 54 yards.
With the .177 at 100 yards, I've found that practice, a good high magnification scope & heavy pellets 10 grains+ is key.

I just cast the blanks so we can start manufacturing our 17 caliber slugs. We have shot good groups out to 150 yards with these slugs. Should be up in the next day or two and makes shooting 17 cal at long range a reality.
Mod90:
Sounds good, but are these going to be .172 or .177?
