Hey gang!
Thought I would show off my early Christmas gift to myself and my future airgun club. This is intended to save me time and money in the long run and be offered as a discounted club benefit for the PCP shooters in my area. Currently there are only two scuba shops that fill 4500psi and one of the owners is having health issues keeping him down right now.
This beauty (I think beautiful at least, lol) filled my small 90ci buddy bottle after reaching pressure in less than two minutes and Jim tells me should fill my 75cu/ft fiber tank in less than fifteen. SO excited about just having to unplug my dryer's 220v cord and plug in my adapter cord and let her rip for fills now. No 20 to 30 minute drive to the scuba shops. :D

Very NICE indeed !
I'm jealous ! do you think it would be a good idea to mount a small fan above it to help keep it cool ? or does it not need any extra airflow around it ?

Not at all. In a cool basement, has built-in fan and oil cooling system (soooo awesome to own a quart of "Jet" engine oil for topping her off) so no worries about cooling on these. Remember Jim's old time friend invented the Kedde compressor for the military's jets and tanks and this is one of them. Since these are rated about five times the pressures we fill to (4500psi) they are being WAY under stressed and run real nice and cool. Best option for a scuba or HPA fill station compressor setup. The reliability is so good on these one he built for a shop in the 70s just this year sent it to him for it's first re-build. He sent along the original reprint of the government issue 1955 dated build manual for her, lol. Good stuff...

Nice compressor, Pezzer. I have a suggestion for you to make your compressor more convenient to use. Have you considered running an outlet from your existing dryer outlet box to another closer to your compressor? All outlet boxes on a single circuit are piggybacked. Just run 10 gauge Romex wire from the dryer outlet box connections to a new one near your compressor. Then you don't have to go behind the dryer each time to pull the dryer plug so you plug in your compressor. The only precaution is that you don't run your dryer and compressor at the same time so you aren't drawing too many amps for the circuit to deal with. I was fortunate in that I was able to keep my compressor on the other side of the wall that my dryer is on so my extra plug and space are perfect for me. I have a an on/off switch on my compressor but I still keep it unplugged when not in use.

Actually what you cant see in that pic is my dryer (just off camera to the left) is my 220v outlet id way up high on the wall behind it. It is about chest high so no running a new box needed plus I did make one for the standard 220v plug he sent attached but it is just mounted on the pallet.
For the last question on the cost Jim Sheldon has one more left at $2600 but remember at 4.2 cfm this tops off my 75cu/ft 4500psi tank in about 4 minuets from 2800psi. So as fast as any scuba shop would be willing to fill without thermal issues.

One thing to do with these compressors is to let the compressor run for a minute or so with the bleed valve open after closing the tank and check valve in the hose assy. That will help keep the cylinders dry and not be shut off hot. Regards, Tom
