Yeah Wes,IDK, but you may want to get a new spring/piston seal from Vortek (their in Michigan) or ARH .
Wes,The mainspring in your pic has a nasty cant right at the end. Haven't seen one like that, but any amount of canting is bad news that is only going to get worse. At 3 000 pellets, you were right around the edge of OEM mainspring usability.Healthy OEM 350 Mag mainsprings do have a bunch of preload ("sticking out the back of the receiver"). One I measured had a preload of 84mm after a couple hundred break-in shots. This doesn't simply mean length of spring sticking out, since the preload tells you how much you need to compress the spring for the rear plug / trigger block to get in place. Even a spring that didn't stick out any would need to compress some for the latter to happen. The piston seal in your pic doesn't look too torn, but it does have grey moly on its face, indicating leakage and dieseling things up. In a well-run gun, the piston seal face remains bright blue (in Diana OEM colors) even after plenty of use. Thanks Toxylon, this is the first time I've had the 350 apart since I've owned it, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm getting a full power replacement spring and a Vortek piston seal, I'm going to order the parts in the next couple of days, I just got home from the hospital with pneumonia, been there since Thursday. I could tell right away something was wrong with the spring because of the difference in cocking effort. It's hard to get a good pic of the seal, but regardless I'm changing it anyway. When I get everything buttoned up I'll post the results thanks again, confirmation on the spring was a big help👍
I installed the new mainspring and piston seal on my 350 yesterday afternoon my parts arrived about 2:45 pm and I had the parts installed in about a half hour. It was definitely the mainspring and I'm sure the new piston seal helped too. I know you guys don't like it when I use pine boards to test power, but before the 350 wouldn't penetrate a 3/4" pine board at 10 meters now it punches right through using Baracuda Hunter Extremes. I've fired about 50 pellets through the rifle so far and it seems to be gaining power, but I can't confirm this. My coconuts are too shot up to use as test media now so I'll have to wait until I can get to Walmart to buy some new ones😜 Overall I'm pleased with the outcome, I'm so glad to have her back together again and at full power👍
