Hi all,
I have an 880 from the late 80s that i haven't used in years. I would like to "revive it" and use it again. what do you all recommend I do in the way of cleaning, updating to get this one back in shooting shape? please note I have never worked on air guns before so have no real experience - simpler would be better but willing tolearn.
I did use copperhead BBs in it and just read these aren't really good for the barrel. any special barrel cleaning in this regard?
Thanks for your help and time.
B.

Clean the bbl. good with a copper solvent such as hoppes #9 to get the copper out for starters.
If it’s still pumping up and holding air, just oil the felt wiper on the pump head with 30 wt. non detergent oil, and hopefully your good to go.
The bbl. “may” still be in good shape, depending on how many bb’s were fired in it... you won’t know till you clean and try it.
