I've shot my gun loose, and snugged up screws hold only for about 50 shots. I want to install brass cups and other metal pieces before I pull the hardware and put blue Loctite everywhere, but Mac1 is out of stock. Do I need this hardware? Is there another vendor who makes these products?
How new is your rifle? My 97 shoots pretty soft (745 with 8.4-8.6 .177 pellets) and has about 1500 down the tube and the stock screws don't work loose very often. Trigger guard still does, though.
Maybe try your local Hobby Shop, they will have a rack of "K-S Hobby and Craft Metal Tubing".. guaranteed. You will find some brass tubing that will fit the holes nicely and you can double it up with the next smaller size to increase the wall thickness if needed.
You made no mention of how you tighten them. I bet you are not tightening them enough. Use a torque driver and set them to the manufacturer's recommended torque settings for stock screws and they won't come loose. Then, when you do maintenance like remove action from the stock, you can reassemble the exact settings you had before. Weihrauch will respond if you email them and ask them.
I think you're right as it being a good preventive measure, generally. Is it synthetic or wood? I meant to check it out but forgot to ask you last time out.
