This helps me with the sights on my pistols. I glued it to a pair of safety glasses that fits over my eyeglasses.

I blew a vien on my right retina right where it focused on the sight/retcile. That's how I got into air guns. Bought a Beeman RS2 dual cal to learn to shoot left hand. Try changing eyes and hands. It's easier than you might think. The mechanics transfer. The hardest thing for me was trigger finger control.

"Original equipment", Benjamin brass scope blocks. Kinda hard to find but, they are out there. Different sizes for .22, .177.
Had an original set of Benjy mounts, but wasn’t using them and gave them to a friend. As far as a period-correct scope, I bought a couple of Tasco 3x7, 3/4” scopes for some older guns. These are available new, and I prefer them to a larger dia. scope on these retro-rifles. Pretty decent, for cheap glass:
Readily available Benjamin B272 mounts will work on a 312, 342 or any Sheridan rifle. If you don't mind spending a bit more, the Mac1 mount is an excellent alternative. Same gun as above, before stock refinish and with B272 mounts:
