Well, the Remington 725VTR arrived about 6:15PM yesterday. Too bad chrono with all new parts didn't record more than 2 shots out of like 24+. But I like the way it shoots! With the Hawke see-through high mounts replaced with some Hawke mid rise Weaver mounts I bought recently, the parallax is great now! Shoots where I point it! And it has the feel of Remington's familiar 7mm rifles, being a stock derived from the 783. A beautiful rifle that shoots well with a few different pellets so far. It likes both weights of the H&N FTT, and the JSB King .25. Heck, it even shot the Benjamin domed 27.8gr pellets pretty well. Just gotta break it in, as it does seem tight. The FPS numbers I got weren't what they should be. Given the state of the, " new" chronograph. But dang, ain't the FPE numbers lookin' promising?! Here's the only two recorded numbers I got today. Gonna try a new battery first, but found out finally I should've bought the G2, as it's made for air rifles and paintball guns. Anyway, the 2 sets of numbers I did manage to squeeze out of it with the H&N FTT 19.91gr are;710/22.29718/23.39 I'm sure those numbers will go up abouit 180FPS when it loosens up. It seems, thus far, to produce more power than velocity? But I'm sure this will change with time?
