Will these carrier agents cause any damage to O-rings ?
PROVIDING sufficient time is allowed for the carrier agent to evaporate, .. Will these carrier agents cause any danger of detonation?
Will using a Dry Lube on the hammer, help to insure greater (and more consistent) hammer strikes, ... to help achieve a flatter shot curve ?
After the dragging issue effected consistency, I went with a very light application of the ballistol. Visibly I couldn't see anything unusual on the hammer or in the tube and it wasn't thickly applied. All I can figure is that the specific dry lube was somehow clumping in areas since the hammer would move freely for a distance then drag then move again, etc. Maybe it was an interaction between some other chemical and the dry lube but it would seem they would all be at least similar. Haven't had any issue with consistency since cleaning it up and using the ballistol and that is the only thing I did that day to correct it. Triggertreat notes running his dry and even though we want to lube moving parts there may not be enough of a wear factor there to be a concern so dry may be fine.I wonder if anyone has ever buttoned a hammer the way you would a piston?
