I posted here, as many of us own older guns designed to spit little steel balls.
Tested the "Dust Devil" BBs, designed to "shatter on impact" and eliminate ricochet. I found that they do indeed ricochet/rebound with considerable force (you can still shoot ur eye out, Ralphie). Test media included oak trees, treated pine, and a glass bottle (which was busted convincingly with a single shot).
Accuracy was on par with Crosman/Daisy BBs. In short, I found them to be no safer than coated steel balls, which can be had at far lesser expense.
Not trying to defame or chastize, just stating my own humble observations. Rifle used was a Crosman M1 carbine in good health. Shoots harder than ur avg Daisy.

Good report, Anthony. That is the sort of information that BB Gun shooters need. Thanks.

They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

I think if you shot them at a steel meant for pellets they'd probably work as intended.
I believe they're really meant for magazine fed co2 pistols for competition style practice.
