I had a good experience slicking up the terrible trigger on my turkish webley longbow and thought i'd share.
I have posted quite a few times about my longbow, i love the accuracy, feel and look. It was originally touched up by paul self and was a very accurate gun right out of the box. Came in 3rd in the GTA shoot, 28-30 yards on painballs.. Only Richard with his 48 and Tcups with his Cz secret weapon were to tough to be beaten..
and it was my triggers fault. Looong pull and you never knew when it would go off, a terrible first stage job. The trigger issue was fresh on my mind when..
Mark 611 pm'ed me to say he had picked up a longbow too and it was a VERY accurate gun but he needed to fix the trigger. I called him and he set my mind at ease on the trigger job, saying not to worry it could be done.. long story short i eagerly started pulling pins and soon had a confusing pile of parts in front of me, you couldn't tell how they were assembled because they just sort of fell out of the housing... uh oh...
The terrible build quality was evident, bad castings and rough surfaces everywhere, i spent most of an afternoon filing then polishing stuff from the housing to the sears and everything in between. Tried to put it all back together and...
i didn't have a clue how it all went together. Decided that if a factory full of people in turkey could do it then i could to and i figured most of it out. Ended up calling mark again and he coached me through the reassembly. In the end i had put the wrong springs in and had to tear it down again and again, it was very frustrating at first but with Marks help and some tricks he told me about, it soon became quite easy. I relearned a simple lesson on perseverence and "if at first you dont succeed, try again". Thanks Mark!!
Ended up polishing everything, rebluing the housing as well as squeezing the housing together to take up some slack in the sears and trigger. Added either polished brass washers or plastic washers where needed to make sure everything was tight. O clips to hold the pins tight,Replaced the springs and added the longer adjustment screw for the factory adjustment. In the end, it came out great, about 90% of perfect. Still a bit heavy, maybe 6 lbs but very tight and crisp, very smooth and has almost 0 travel. I'm real pleased with the results and now wouldn't hesitate to tackle one again. J

Great to hear you got your trigger all slicked up! I had nearly the same experiences you did a few months back when I redid the trigger on my Titan. I literally spent the whole day getting it worked over and put back together the right way. I had a few parts mixed up, and once even had it put back together the right way, but didn't quite install it right. I got help from a few members here and that made all of the difference. Great that Mark611 was able to help get your trigger back together. Enjoy the new trigger feel and the feeling of satisfaction of a job well done!

Richard, i don't think you should touch up your 48 at all.. just leave it alone.. at least until after next years meet
Hi Calmark, good to see you, you and me had the same kinda experience, our confidence turned to doubt and frustration but with a little help we gained a lot. Knowledge and experience go hand in hand, thank goodness the "old hands" here have both. Renowntwo, guys like that are what make the forum, alone i would not dig into this gun but with Marks help, and offers/internals pics from Gene and others to help, it really inspires confidence. I look forward to doing the 1st tune on it. J
